Fun with dyes

I dyed some Lamb's Pride a deep violet to work as a cuff for my next pair of fuzzy feet for a dear friend (the body will be the yarn I painted for her)

Then I decided to play around with blues and plums, so I overdyed a skein of "winter blue" Lamb's Pride with a mixture of sapphire, plum and teals. It came out better than I expected. I tried to capture the shifts in colors with my camera but the first picture hardly showed the violet, or the brilliance of the sapphire. I moved outdoors to natural light but it washed out the colors, especially the teals. Out of the two, the first is closer to the depth/richness of the colors. I love it.
